Parco Ciani

A true green oasis in the heart of the city, Parco Ciani is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. It is considered one of the most beautiful parks in Switzerland thanks to its privileged lakeside location, majestic trees, large playground, and scenic walking paths that wind through statues, fountains, and colorful flowerbeds.
The park features an impressive array of subtropical flora and Mediterranean-style vegetation โ including palm trees, exotic shrubs, roses, azaleas, magnolias, and camellias โ and spans over 63,000 square meters, stretching to the right bank of the Cassarate River. At its mouth, known as the Foce, a scenic viewpoint with benches and a small beach is especially appreciated by those seeking a moment of relaxation with a view of Lake Luganoโs gulf.
Since 2018, the area between the Cantonal Library and the lake has hosted the Garden of the Righteous (Giardino dei Giusti) โ the first of its kind in Switzerland โ where specially planted olive trees and plaques honor six Ticinese individuals who courageously helped save people persecuted for political, racial, or religious reasons.
The park is named after its 1840 owners, who lived in Villa Ciani, and became a public city park in 1912.
Lido San Domenico (after)

A place of extraordinary natural beauty, immersed in tranquility and greenery, offering breathtaking views of the lake and the scenic Caprino shoreline.
Located at number 12 along the famous Sentiero di Gandria (Gandria Trail), just minutes from the historic Villa Heleneum, Lido San Domenico is easily accessible, even by boat. Leaving Lugano in the direction of Gandria, you pass through Via Cortivo, at the foot of the Castagnola village, and enter a stunning section of the Prealpine National Park.
Here, lush groves of bay laurel, olive trees, agave bushes, and a rich variety of Mediterranean flora reveal the unique natural wealth of this southern landscape.
Lido San Domenico โ affectionately known as LSD โ is much more than just a lakeside beach: itโs a welcoming and inclusive oasis where you can unwind in nature, soak up the sun, and enjoy crystal-clear waters. Its well-maintained facilities, relaxed atmosphere, and full accessibility make it the perfect place for a peaceful day of good food and laid-back vibes.
But LSD is also a vibrant hub of Luganoโs alternative cultural scene: throughout the year it hosts music nights, alternative events, and high-quality artistic happenings, earning a beloved place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike.
We warmly invite you to discover it, experience it, and make it your own.
Foce (in case of rain)

The beating heart of the FOCE cultural hub, Studio Foce is a concert venue entirely dedicated to live music in all its forms. Since its opening in 2012, this welcoming and versatile space has hosted a rich calendar of events each year, showcasing both established artists and emerging talents from the international scene as well as the local underground.
Among the most notable series are Raclette, curated by the Division of Events and Conferences, and Random, alongside numerous collaborations with independent promoters and organizations โ including Nextpunk, which regularly organizes concerts at the venue throughout the season.
Thanks to its flexibility, Studio Foce also hosts film screenings, theatrical performances, workshops, and public talks, making FOCE a dynamic and essential landmark for cultural life in Lugano.
